Massaging hand

Massage Volunteers

Hand and Foot Massage volunteers needed in the following areas:

  • Bendigo
  • Bundoora
  • Campbellfield
  • Caulfield
  • East Melbourne
  • Elsternwick
  • Essendon
  • Greater Geelong area
  • Noble Park
  • Seddon
  • St Kilda
  • Whittlesea

Time required: 2 – 3 hours per week/fortnight
Preferable day: Dependent on client
Duties include: Visiting Client in home to provide gentle hand and foot massage
Essential skills: Good communication, Enjoy working with people

Relief Reception Volunteers

Our volunteer receptionists are our frontline contact people at the MND office in Canterbury. We would like to identify and skill up a small pool of volunteers who are able to provide backup support to our reception team during busy times and when our regular reception volunteers are on leave.

Time required: Reception shifts are 3.5 hours morning or afternoon. Times required would vary according to needs.

This is an ongoing role and will suit someone who likes to meet people, receive phone enquiries and complete general administration duties to support the work of the MND.

Training and support will be provided.

Home Visitors

We are seeking volunteers who are able to provide social companionship for clients living at home. Volunteers visit clients in their home and provide clients with opportunities to maintain social involvement and activities of interest. This role will suit someone who enjoys getting to know and spending time with people.

Time required: 2-3 hours per fortnight. Volunteers will be matched with people in their local area.

Hairdresser

A hairdressing volunteer is needed in the Northern Melbourne Metropolitan area:

Time required: As required
Preferable day: Dependent on client    
Duties include: Visiting Client in home to provide a haircut
Essential skills: Good communication, Enjoy working with people

Essential:

  • Must be a qualified hairdresser
  • Must have valid driver’s licence and roadworthy vehicle
  • Must have own equipment
  • Willingness to travel outside home suburb area (negotiated).
