Professional Development

A range of opportunities exist for health professionals and service providers wishing to further develop their skills in caring for someone with MND.

MND professionals seminars

Every year, MND Victoria runs seminars throughout Victoria and Tasmania to educate health professionals and service providers on the latest evidence based best practice methods of working with people with MND. The seminars also provide a valuable opportunity for attendees to network and learn more about statewide and local services.

MNDCare website

MND Australia has developed a website for Australian health and community care professionals involved in motor neurone disease care and support. No matter where you work, MNDcare will help you to assess the needs of the person with MND and their carer, get evidence based and best practice MND information, make referrals to the right provider at the right time and provide a coordinated, multidisciplinary team approach to MND care.

National MND Conference

Biannually, a National MND Conference is held by MND Australia. Members of the MND community from across Australia meet to network and learn about the latest in MND care, advocacy and research.

Allied Professionals Forum

Annually, the MND Association of the United Kingdom in cooperation with the International Alliance of ALS/MND Associations hold an Allied Professional Forum. The forum is typically held the day before the International Symposium. To find out more visit: http://www.mndassociation.org/research/International+Symposium

The forums provides an opportunity for attendees to exchange information about good practice and to facilitate the highest standard of care for people with MND and their carers. The content of the forum presentations not only focuses on practice research but also the hands-on work involved in caring for people with MND.
